Governing legislation

This website will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Canada and the applicable laws of the Province of Quebec, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of laws. Any litigation, dispute or claim arising from or relative to the use of this website shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Quebec and you accept henceforth to be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Quebec in this respect.

If you carry out transactions with the Bank via Internet Banking Solutions, you alone must make sure that all user codes, access card numbers and passwords used on the site are protected. The Bank cannot be held liable for any damages that you may suffer due to the unauthorized or illegal use of the user code(s), access card number(s) or password(s) or your failure to ensure the secure and confidential nature of the transactions.

Confidentiality and security

The Bank complies with the legislation governing the protection of personal information. In addition, it uses the latest encryption techniques to guarantee the confidentiality of the information exchanged with you via Internet Banking Solutions. The Bank, however, cannot protect information exchanged when the website is accessed via a non-secure platform and/or in a public location, which could endanger the confidentiality of your personal information. Communications via e-mail are not secure or confidential. They can be lost or intercepted, in much the same way as communications via other means (for example, cellular phone, post office mail). The Bank cannot be held liable for any damages that you may incur from any exchange of e-mail or electronic messages, between you and the Bank.

In general, you alone are responsible for ensuring the protection and safekeeping of your data and computer platforms/devices.

Accuracy and changes in information on our website

Even if the Bank does not guarantee that the information is exact, compliant or complete, the data and information contained on the website that comes from the Bank and other sources are believed to be reliable when posted.
